Asagiri Country Club: A Golden Week Golf Adventure
During Golden Week, a special holiday period in Japan filled with several national holidays that offer a great opportunity for travel and leisure, I visited Asagiri Country Club. It was early May, and the snow still capped the top of Mt. Fuji, making for a stunning backdrop. In my opinion, Mt. Fuji looks even more majestic with its snowy peak.
Asagiri Country Club is a gem for any golfer. Not only is the course meticulously maintained, but the clubhouse is also spotless, featuring a beautiful onsen where you can relax after a round of golf. This blend of excellent golfing facilities and traditional Japanese relaxation is truly unique.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Asagiri Country Club is the view of Mt. Fuji from most of the 18 holes. Each hole offers a different angle and scenery of the iconic mountain, making every swing a new experience. The varied perspectives of Mt. Fuji enhance the beauty and challenge of the course, providing a dynamic golfing experience that keeps you engaged and inspired throughout your round.
On the way back, I saw a huge field with cows chilling right in front of Mt. Fuji, adding another picturesque moment to an already unforgettable day. Exploring new courses and immersing oneself in the natural beauty and cultural richness of each location is what makes golfing such a fulfilling adventure.
